icSpeech is multi-parameter speech biofeedback and recording program that lets you view and analyse acoustic and video information on your PC.Audio Setup:
For optimum performance it is important to setup the correct audio recording level. Follow these steps to ensure your microphone is configured correctly:
1. Plug your microphone into the microphone socket on your computer. This is usually indicated by a small microphone symbol. Alternatively, if your microphone is USB compatible, plug it into a spare USB port. For further information, consult your hardware documentation.
2. Click on the Audio Settings toolbar button
3. In the Audio Settings dialog, select your preferred audio capture device. Depending on your system configuration, there may be more than one device available.
4. Ensure the correct audio input is selected.
5. Speak into the microphone and observe the displayed audio waveform.
6. Adjust the recording level to optimise the waveform amplitude as shown below.
7. Avoid excessive amplitude or clipping:

9. Avoid large amounts of background noise. Consider using a headset microphone with built-in noise cancellation.Webcam Setup:
icSpeech will automatically detect any built-in webcams that your computer may have. Alternatively, plug in an external USB webcam into a spare USB port on your computer. Once installed, follow these steps to ensure your webcam is configured correctly:
1. Click on the Video Setting toolbar button
2. In the Video Settings dialog, select your preferred webcam. Depending on your system configuration, there may be more than one device available.
3. Adjust the webcam so that the subject is positioned centrally in the display.
4. Adjust the brightness and contrast levels if necessary.Frame Grabber Setup:
Follow these steps to configure your frame grabber:
1. Depending on your video source, connect either a composite video or s-video cable between the frame grabber and the video-out connector on your video source.
2. Plug the frame grabber into a spare USB port on your computer.
3. Click on the Video Setting toolbar button
4. In the Video Settings dialog, select your frame grabber. Depending on your system configuration, there may be more than one device available.
5. Select the video input source that matches your input device. Consult your video source documentation for available options.
6. Select the video format that matches your input device. Consult your video source documentation for available options.
7. Ensure the image is displayed correctly.
8. Adjust the brightness and contrast levels if necessary.
